Are you delusional and obsessed with your dreams?

Sheldon Cooper Presents: Fun with Flags | The Big Bang Theory Wiki | Fandom

I am a big ass fan of Big Bang Theory, and last week, I watched all the seasons from the beginning for the billionth time.

But for the first time, I saw Sheldon’s and Amy’s big project, “Fun with Flags!” in a new light🧡.

To give context to readers who haven’t watched the show, 2 of the lead characters (they’re a couple, too) start a show called Fun with Flags, where they take up flags of each country, explain the history, uniqueness of each flag, and also call guests on it from time to time.

Why did I see it in a new light this time?

Because they run the show for years, even if people hardly watch it! Only because they’re so passionate and delusional about the subject, and their only point is to share!

Throughout the week, the words delusional and obsessed kept coming up for me, probably as a huge synchronicity. I realized that needs to be the core characteristic of any entrepreneur!

Why?

Because, more often than not, people around us don’t get our dreams, right? Especially in the beginning!

How many times have you been asked the following questions?

  • Why are you even doing this? Spending hours and hours with visibly no results (at least according to others)??

  • You’re working in a great job which pays you well! Why do you want to quit it and start some random business?

  • What is it that you do again? I don’t get it😅

Now looking back, every time someone asked me this question, it was the delusion and obsession with my vision of life and business that pushed me forward instead of crippling me.

My delusion and obsession swallowed my terrifying fears and pushed me to keep going.

My delusion and obsession kept me going, even during my lowest days, when I felt like the biggest failure in the world.

Because our delusion and obsession with our dreams somehow end up lighting a fire under our ass, it becomes a part of our identity, and after a point, we just cannot be anything else, you know?

We cannot help but move ahead.

We cannot help but pick ourselves up every time we fall.

We cannot help but take action even if it sends us into a spiral of anxiety.

Isn’t it?

For a long time, I saw this attitude as a negative thing. Probably even toxic to some extent.

Because I thought it took me away from reality.

But today, looking back?

That delusion and obsession have transformed my life in a way nothing else can. It’s made me travel leaps and bounds, traverse above my fears, and do things I never even imagined!

(Disclaimer: Some people take it over the top. I’m not talking about those situations here. There is, of course, a balance to everything. A balance that only you are aware of. If it’s the right amount for you, it’s good enough🧡.)

Your delusion and obsession also make you aware of your WHY. Your passion. Your dreams. And the reason you started your business in the first place.

So, the next time someone calls you stupid, delusional, or obsessed with following your dream, just smile and move on. Realizing it’s carrying you toward a life no one can imagine!

With lots of love and support,

Until next time,Shruthi
