Case Study: 4 Paid Clients, 500+ Super Followers and Remarkable Business Clarity

I still remember my discovery call with him sometime in November. We had initially met through a common CBC, and I was taking customer interviews at the time for my new niche.

During the call, he started sharing how he wanted to become a writing coach because he didn’t want to do copywriting for others anymore…but was super confused. He had taken on various roles like teacher, writer, copywriter, and coach...and had reached a stage where he wanted to level up and follow his passion.Initially, the sessions were straightforward…with us trying to set up his business (goal setting, understanding his ideal client, client interviews, packaging, pricing, working with a beta client, etc.). We were slowly working through friction and digging deeper into what he wanted.

But as time passed, he began to face intense friction in his day-to-day activities.That's when I realized... something was wrong. We have to pause and reflect on why. At that point, all I had to do was allow him to be himself, give him a safe space, and bring out his deepest wants and desires.👉The problem?He wanted to be a writing coach only because it seemed the natural next step for folks at his level. And somehow, he was leaving his crucial creator and writer selves behind.One question changed everything:

A model that embraced all his identities…into him.Slowly the blocks inside started to fade away...it showed in his content, interactions, confidence, and more. Earlier, he felt he was everywhere and nowhere. Even with his brand assets like newsletter or Twitter account. But now? He had a purposeful direction.He slowly started getting leads for coaching and writing, which he accepted. Now he’s also super mindful of what he wants and dares to say no if the opportunity isn’t right. That comes from clarity of thought and purpose.

And is now releasing his mega-freebie soon, where 14 folks signed up automatically as beta readers (without much marketing)Yesterday, when I caught up with him, he was saying how he's getting results from the coaching even now...only because he did the work - because he was ready to dig deeper.Most of the time, our business gets stuck not because of pricing, packaging, and all that bullshit. But because of our internal frictions. Most folks don’t realize that your energy matters, especially in businesses that involve empathy and creativity.

Even if your content is technically excellent, people won’t be able to trust you because they’d feel your friction completely. They probably will not be able to pinpoint the cause, but they’d feel like something’s wrong, which would put them off and stop them from becoming your super fan.I’ve consistently seen identity integration as one of the biggest problems for all my clients. They make assumptions and automatically put themselves in boxes, causing too much friction. Of course, the situations are different, but the root cause is always the same.

As simple and complex as it sounds…ask yourself.

“What imaginative box am I putting myself in? How am I letting that stop me from building the coaching business of my dreams?”

You’ll automatically have much clarity now and can take steps to work on it.
